Online Petition Duke Energy Pollution

Dirty Duke doesn’t want you to know just how toxic they are to Latinos. So we created this video to show you just how “Dirty” Duke Energy is. Click here to watch the viceo:

Tell Duke Energy to stop polluting our communities and instead support clean energy!

Dear {{ user.first_name|default:”Friend” }},

Dirty Duke doesn’t want you to know what they do.

As you read this, Duke Energy—the largest electric power company in Florida—is deploying its powerful lobbyists to try to convince elected officials and regulators to roll back laws that help clean energy economies grow.1

Worse, Duke Energy is wreaking havoc in the Southeast. Duke is responsible for pumping 35 million gallons of toxic chemicals known to cause developmental delays and permanent damage in infants along North Carolina’s Dan River.2

Dirty Duke’s path of pollution also spreads to Florida, where Tampa families who live close to the company’s Crystal River power plant3 are exposed to the toxic gases from the Plant’s coal boilers known to trigger increased rates of asthma and neurological disorders.4

So we’re standing up to Dirty Duke and demanding that that they release their stranglehold on our energy choices!

Can you join the fight by demanding that Duke Energy stop polluting our communities and instead support our right to switch to clean energy?

Presente, along with our allies at The Other 98%, 350.org, League of Conservation Voters, and many others, are launching a massive campaign against Duke Energy demanding that the company stop polluting our communities and support clean energy instead. Over the next few weeks we’ll air a cable TV ad in Florida calling out Duke Energy for its record on polluting our communities and blocking the growth of clean energy like rooftop solar. We’ll deliver your signatures straight to Duke Energy and we’ll call on our elected officials to stand up to Dirty Duke.

Latinos and other communities of color are often the ones that bear the brunt of dirty energy pollution—the type that Duke prefers.

Will you stand up for Florida communities and demand that Duke Energy stop polluting our neighborhoods and respect our right to switch to clean energy?

Thanks and ¡adelante!
Arturo, Roberto, Jesús, Erick, Erica, Refugio, Luis, Mariana, and the rest of the Presente.org Team
